Management Supervision/Consultancy
I offer management supervision/consultancy within an organisational psychodynamic framework to clinical and non-clinical supervisors and managers, including NHS service managers, and managers working in education, business and the charitable sector. I have almost 40 years’ experience supervising and supporting managers from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds, alongside extensive experience in managing counselling services. This includes setting up and leading a Staff Counselling Service within the NHS and at Cardiff University and supporting managers within these organisational settings.
Supervision for managers recognises the demands placed on them as they balance the requirements of work tasks and the challenges of supporting and managing their staff and offers a restorative – and at times challenging -space for reflection. Working within a psychodynamic framework, the process is supportive, relational, exploratory and reflective. My aim is to facilitate greater awareness of the relational and organisational dynamics at play, viewing the organisation as a system shaped by relational, emotional and unconscious processes.
Organisational consultancy and supervision aim to enhance staff health and wellbeing, thereby supporting effectiveness and promoting mental and physical health, whilst helping to prevent stress and burnout.
